Belief Statement | New Life Ministries

Gods Word:
We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God which is used for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).

God:
We believe the Shema Yisrael "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one." there is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4) ).  He is the creator of heaven and earth, and all living beings.  He has revealed himself to humanity as the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Father:
God is a spirit (John 4:24). He is the first and the last, and besides Him there is no God (Isaiah 44:6). There was no God formed before Him; neither shall there be after Him (Isaiah 43:10).

Son:
We believe that God exalted Christ to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11). And she shall bring forth a son and thou shall call His name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).

Holy Ghost:
The Holy Ghost is not a third person in the Godhead, but rather the spirit of God, the spirit of the resurrected Christ. The Holy Ghost is a Comforter that dwells in the hearts and lives of every believer (John 14:16-26).

Salvation:
We believe in personal salvation through Christ Jesus. This salvation is available for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord (Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9-10, Romans 10:13, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Baptism in Water:
We believe in water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior, is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 22:16, Romans 6:4).

Baptism in the Holy Spirit:
We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as distinct from the New Birth, in speaking with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. (Isaiah 28:11-12, Mark 16:17, Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-48)

Communion:
The Lord's Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in it. (Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Healing:
We believe in divine healing, through faith that was purchased for us by the blood of the Lamb of God (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus Christ commanded us to lay hands on the sick and they will recover (Matthew 10:8),  raise the dead and drive out demons in the name of Jesus (Mark 16:15-18). Also to call the elders of the church to pray for sickness in the name of Jesus (James 5:14).

Spiritual Gifts:
We believe the supernatural gifts of the Spirit are for the church today. (1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:12-15)

Righteousness:
We believe to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33), for the LORD loves righteousness and justice (Psalm 33:5). The Lord will guide us in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake (Psalm 23:3). Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled (Matthew 5:6). The righteous will live by faith (Romans 1:17, Romans 3:21). For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).

Second Coming of Christ:
Jesus Christ is coming back to the earth in bodily form, just as He went away (Acts 1:11). For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with a voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: and we that are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Resurrection:
There will be a resurrection of all the dead, both just and unjust. I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God . . . and the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them (Revelations 12:12-13).

Judgment:
It is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done whether it be good or bad (II Corinthians 5:10).
